Main responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain web applications using Laravel
- Customize and extend WordPress themes and plugins
- Integrate APIs and third-party services into PHP applications
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code
- Maintain database structures and optimize queries (MySQL)
- Create and maintain technical documentation that supports the ongoing development process
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across environments
- Identify and address performance bottlenecks in existing code to improve overall system performance
- Participate in code reviews, daily standups, and agile processes
- Proficient in leveraging AI tools and platforms to support and enhance daily tasks and operational workflows
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional experience in PHP development
- Experience with at least one major PHP framework (such as Laravel, Symfony, etc.), with the ability to work framework-agnostic and a solid understanding of underlying framework architecture and principles
- In-depth knowledge of WordPress core functions, custom theme development, and plugin development
- Solid experience with MySQL or other relational databases
- Strong understanding of RESTful API design and integration
- Proficient in unit testing
- In-depth understanding of OOP principles and patterns
- Basic understanding of Linux System Administration (configuration and administration)
- Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or similar) is a strong advantage
- Basic understanding of server provisioning, deployment pipelines, and cloud storage
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, agile team environment
