Prime Concrete LLC, in joint venture with Jan De Nul, is building the 1.33 km breakwater for the Anaklia New Deep Sea Port on Georgia's Black Sea coast — and we're looking for a Marine Coordinator to run our floating plant.
Anaklia, Georgia · site-based · through completion in 2027
Position: Marine Coordinator
Job Description:
The Marine Coordinator is responsible for all marine operations — survey vessel, HSE / guard boats, split barges, tugs, jack-up and spud barges — coordinating vessel movements, marine HSE, supply, and the interface with the port and Georgian maritime authorities.
What we're looking for:
- Deep knowledge of Georgian maritime regulations
- Proven liaison with the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia, local ports, coast guard & state officials
- Marine construction / vessel coordination experience
- Strong marine HSE leadership
- Fluent Georgian + English
Key responsibilities
- Produce and maintain the daily and look-ahead marine operations plan, aligning vessel availability and movements with the construction programme.
- Coordinate all vessel movements, towage, mooring / anchor patterns, barge cycles and jack-up positioning; sequence the spread to keep placement fronts supplied without conflict between rock and Xbloc work fronts.
- Plan and authorise jack-up jacking operations (pre-load, punch-through assessment, leg / spudcan checks, weather windows) and spud-barge moves.
- Manage marine plant availability, breakdown response and the maintenance / dry-dock / slipway schedule to minimise lost production.
- Maintain compliance with Georgian maritime regulations and the Maritime Transport Agency of Georgia requirements; manage vessel registration / recognition, manning and competency certification of crew.
- Obtain and manage marine permits, movement approvals and zone clearances; ensure all works are notified and authorised before execution.
- Plan and control marine supply chain: bunkering (fuel), fresh water, lube oils, provisions, gases and consumables to all vessels and barges; prevent stand-downs from supply gaps.
- Issue daily marine reports (vessel status, movements, downtime, weather, fuel, incidents) and weekly marine progress and look-ahead.
- Own the marine HSE regime as part of the project HSE management system and the project ESMMP; ensure all marine works are covered by risk assessments, method statements and permits to work on / over water.
