Position Summary
- The Primary Electrical Engineer leads the technical engineering review, Electrical optimization, and specification mapping for all high-voltage primary systems (up to 500kV) of the wind farm and its grid-connected substation. The position guarantees that heavy-current architecture aligns flawlessly with the Georgian State Electrosystem (GSE) grid codes and international standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve complex high-voltage primary layout layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), lightning protection shielding, grounding networks, and main connection logic.
- Perform and validate core engineering engineering computations, covering short-circuit current thresholds, load flow dynamics, reactive power management, insulation coordination, and busbar mechanical stress calculations.
- Authorize detailed engineering specifications for large capital equipment procurement, including 500kV/220kV main transformers, SF6 gas-insulated switchgears (GIS), surge arresters, and Static Var Generators (SVG).
- Coordinate extensively with domestic Georgian Electrical Institutes and GSE engineering panels to fast-track official Electrical approvals and secure technical grid compliance certificates.
- Provide ongoing, expert engineering support during procurement and on-site high-voltage equipment commissioning phases, and perform power plant operations during commercial operation..
Qualifications & Professional Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems and Automation, or High Voltage Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional Electrical or Electrical review experience in high-voltage substations (110kV to 500kV) or utility-scale renewable energy assets.
- Deep comprehension of international electrotechnical standards (IEC, IEEE) and their interface with Georgian national technical regulations (GOST/SST equivalents utilized by GSE).
- Advanced software mastery in AutoCAD, ETAP, CYME, or equivalent electrical system modeling suites.
- Fluency in technical English is mandatory. Working knowledge of Georgian or Chinese is highly advantageous.
