Silk Cloud announces a vacancy for the position of Presales Engineer.
Company: Silk Cloud
Department: Technology and Innovation
Location: Tbilisi
Employment type: Full-time
About the role
Silk Cloud provides cloud, data-centre, cybersecurity, connectivity, IT infrastructure and managed services to businesses in Georgia. Many Georgian companies are still early in adopting these services and need help understanding what a modern cloud or security setup looks like and what value it brings.
We're looking for a Presales Engineer to join our sales team as the technical lead for client engagements. You'll work alongside account managers from the first meeting through to closing the deal, translating customer needs into solutions that are technically sound, competitive, and clearly valuable to the client. You'll start with the client's business problem, not just a product list.
Key responsibilities
- Join sales meetings with clients, including IT leaders and senior management, and answer technical questions
- Discover and document customers' business challenges and technical requirements
- Assess the client's current environment (infrastructure, cloud use, network, security, backup and disaster recovery) and identify improvement opportunities
- Advise clients on GPU and AI infrastructure options and size solutions for AI/ML workloads
- Qualify opportunities and assess technical feasibility
- Recommend the right delivery model for each client: Silk Cloud data centre, private, public or hybrid cloud, managed services, or partner solutions
- Design solution architectures, migration plans and implementation roadmaps
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including TCO/ROI comparisons of the client's current setup versus the proposed solution
- Prepare BOQ/BOM pricing in coordination with vendors and partners
- Lead the technical part of tenders and RFP/RFI/RFQ responses
- Deliver tailored presentations, product demos and workshops
- Coordinate internal specialists and technology partners (hyperscalers, cybersecurity and infrastructure vendors); track competitor offerings; train the sales team and partners; hand over projects to the implementation team after the sale
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3–4+ years in presales, technical sales, technical consulting, or a similar role
- Strong technical knowledge of networking, cloud, cybersecurity and software
- Good understanding of data centres, virtualisation, backup and disaster recovery
- Understanding of the full sales cycle, from first presentation to close
- Ability to explain complex technical topics to non-technical audiences
- Ability to build basic business cases (TCO/ROI)
- Strong presentation, workshop facilitation and communication skills
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience writing technical documentation and proposals
- B2B sales experience
- Fluent Georgian and English, spoken and written
Nice to have
- Tender experience, including public procurement
- Relevant vendor certifications (cloud, cybersecurity, networking)
- Background in a systems integrator, cloud provider, telecom operator or IT services company
- Experience with managed services or cloud migration projects
