Key Responsibilities  
  • Master is responsible for the seaworthiness of the tug in accordance with rules and regulations issued by: International / National authorities, Flag states, Port states, Classification societies; 
  • Protection policies of the ISM CODE (Safety Management System) and ensure that crews are motivated to comply with this policy; 
  • To perform towing works according to the plan & schedule; 
  • Correct exploitation of the tug; 
  • Captain is obliged to choose the safest way of working based on his experience and use of navigational aids at his disposal for the safe operations of the assigned tug; 
  • To guide and instruct all staff to ensure proper tug operations and maintenance in all shifts; 
  • Informing direct manager in case if any company policy violation from the crew members; Coordinating tug maintenance with Engine Department for the most effective solutions to the engineering issues of the tug; 
  • Correctly inserting information in the shift log; Master should manage tug operation and must be always available; Keep confidential information; Port internal regulations, Labor protection, technical safety and housekeeping rules must be followed up; Ensuring fulfillment of emergency requirements on tugs, to have lifesaving & firefighting system ready for the usage; 
  • Thoroughly following the rules of equipment security and firefighting system; 
  • Before starting the shift, to inspect tug hull, engine technical system and the condition of the other parts based on the technical requirements; 
  • In case of alarm announcement, Master should ensure operation of tug in an emergency mode; 
  • Captain is considered as a materially responsible person for the material values existing on the tug. 
 
We are looking for  
  • Required, minimum 3 years of working experience on board of ASD tugs; 
  • Higher maritime education; 
  • Relevant certificates authorized by Maritime administration of Georgia. 
 
 We expect you also have:  
  • Must be able to operate a computer (hydrographical and graphical program) and various office machines for the purpose of data input, retrieval and record keeping; 
  • High degree of discipline and safety-mindedness. 
  • Ability / willingness to work according to the internal regulations and safety and security rules of the company. 
  • Ability of team working
