Location: Tbilisi, Georgia

Brief information about the project
“QUIS – Better Goods and Services” is a project on enhancing competitiveness of companies through the improvement of quality infrastructure, co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry of Economic Development BMZ. The three-year Project is implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH in collaboration with the Czech Development Agency (CzDA,) with the timeline scheduled till January 31st, 2027.

The QUIS project's primary objective is to foster inclusive and sustainable growth in Georgia and to enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of local private sector in the country, through:
  • Improved framework for quality infrastructure (QI) and competitiveness of products
  • Enhanced capacities of QI institutions and local companies (SMEs)
  • Increased awareness, knowledge and resources of local companies to ensure adherence to European and international standards
  • Intensified cooperation between QI institutions and private sector actors

Responsibilities
The project is seeking a national intern to provide support for the project in overall project implementation. The main tasks of the intern include:
  • Administrative support: scheduling meetings, compiling documents, taking notes of meetings; assisting in event/workshop/training planning and organizing; assisting in procurement of goods and services in line with the GIZ regulations
  • Project coordination: updating timelines, following up on tasks and deliverables, contributing to reporting
  • Communication: drafting mails, agendas, invitations, presentations, press releases and other communication materials
  • Data collection: assisting with data collection and entry per project component, analyzing data and preparing brief reports
  • Miscellaneous support: providing any additional assistance the project team may require.

Required qualifications, competences, and experience:
Qualifications and competences:
  • Last-year Bachelor`s student or recent graduate in economic or social sciences, business management, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and open-minded, with a strong interest in working for an international development organization
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and maintain attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and manage time effectively to support various tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong ability to work in a team, contributing to a collaborative environment and supporting others where needed.

Experience:
  • Any prior internships or roles in project support or administrative work.
  • Experience in handling administrative tasks, managing schedules, and keeping track of deadlines.
  • Experience to project-based work in internships, or other roles. Having worked in environments where project goals, deadlines, and deliverables were part of the responsibility.

Other competencies:
  • Good working knowledge of computer applications (MS Office, e.g. Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and OneNote.),
  • Georgian on a native level; fluent written and oral knowledge of English (B2). German language skills are an asset.
  • High level of cultural sensitivity and non-discriminatory attitude
  • Contributing to innovation and learning
  • Readiness to undertake duty trips when needed

Working hours: The intern will work on a full-time schedule, amounting to 40 hours per week. The specific working days will be determined in consultation with the project team.
