Position: Technical Team Lead (Full Stack) – On-site in Tbilisi, Georgia

Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Technical Team Lead to join our team in Tbilisi. In this role, you will act as the bridge between the founder and our remote full-stack development team. You’ll take high-level ideas and requirements from the founder (in non-technical terms) and quickly translate them into technical tasks and plans for the development team. This is a hands-on leadership role for a full-stack expert who can oversee all aspects of software development and ensure the successful delivery of our application. The position is on-site, full-time in our Tbilisi office (Monday–Friday). Fluent English communication is a must for coordinating with our international team and translating requirements effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Liaison & Communication: Work closely with the founder to understand the vision and features of the our app, and convert business ideas into clear technical requirements for the development team. Act as the primary point of contact between the founder and the remote programming team.
  • Project Leadership: Lead and coordinate the remote full-stack development team (located abroad), ensuring they clearly understand tasks, deadlines, and project goals. Facilitate daily/weekly meetings to convey the founder’s requirements and provide feedback.
  • Technical Oversight: Oversee all areas of development – front-end, back-end, database, etc. – to ensure technical consistency and quality. Review code and technical approaches when necessary, and guide the team in implementing best practices.
  • Task Planning: Break down high-level product features and user stories into actionable development tasks. Create and manage project plans or agile sprints (using tools like Jira or Trello) to track progress and ensure timely delivery of features
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the application meets the required standards. Work with the team to test features, debug issues, and implement fixes. Verify that the team’s output aligns with the founder’s expectations and the product’s needs.
  • Team Coordination: Coordinate across different domains (e.g., UI/UX, backend, mobile, DevOps) – being proficient in all these areas allows you to help team members solve problems in any part of the project. Mentor the developers, resolve technical roadblocks, and maintain a productive, collaborative team environment.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Full-Stack Expertise: 5+ years of experience in software development across front-end and back-end. Strong knowledge of web/mobile application development, databases, APIs, and cloud services. (Experience with modern frameworks and languages is expected – for example, proficiency in both front-end (e.g. JavaScript/React or similar) and back-end (e.g. Node.js, Python, Java, etc.) development.)
  • Technical Leadership: Prior experience as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Project Manager in a software development environment. Proven ability to guide a development team and translate non-technical requirements into technical plans.
  • Project Management: Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools for tracking tasks (Scrum/Kanban, Jira, etc.). Highly organized, able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken). Able to understand the founder’s ideas (in layperson terms) and articulate them in technical language to the team. Clear, prompt communicator with strong documentation skills. (Note: Knowledge of Georgian is not required; our working language is English.)
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Capable of quickly diagnosing issues across different parts of a tech stack and proposing effective solutions.
  • Broad Domain Knowledge: Comfortable working with all aspects of technology – from UI/UX considerations to database design and server infrastructure. Ability to make informed decisions or give guidance in any technical domain the project touches.
  • Education: Bachelor’s or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Soft Skills: Leadership and team-building skills – you can motivate developers and foster a positive, productive working environment. Self-motivated and proactive, with a “can-do” attitude to take ownership of challenges.

Salary & Benefits:
  • Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience – approximately in the 5,000 to 8,000 GEL per month range (gross) for a senior candidate (around $2,000–$3,000 USD). The exact offer will depend on the candidate’s skills and experience. This range is aligned with Tbilisi’s IT market for senior tech leads, ensuring we offer an attractive package for the right talent.
