Chief Accountant | MOGO Georgia
The Mission for Chief Accountant: ensure the qualitative and timely Group, statutory, tax and regulatory reporting and lead the main accounting processes by playing a critical role in intra-departments communication, accounting support delivery, internal accounting control environment development.
What you will do:
- Ensure accurate and timely Group, statutory, tax, and regulatory reporting
- Lead and manage the full accounting function and team
- Lead monthly and yearly closing processes, ensuring compliance with reporting timelines
- Prepare and review management reports (monthly), cash flow forecasts (weekly), and other value-added financial reports
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with IFRS, Group accounting policies, and local regulations
- Control revenue recognition processes and ensure proper accounting treatment
- Manage tax compliance and ensure timely submission of all statutory and regulatory reports
- Coordinate and support external audit processes, ensuring smooth execution with no significant issues
- Develop and strengthen internal accounting controls and processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (Customer Service, Debt Collection, IT) and external stakeholders (auditors, partners, HQ)
What you will need:
- Higher education in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- 2–3 years of experience in a Chief Accountant or similar managerial role
- Strong knowledge of Georgian tax legislation and IFRS
- Experience in financial services or non-bank financial institutions is an advantage
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Georgian and English
